Our Process


First off, we would love to meet you! One of the best parts of our job is to meet new people and to have a chance at becoming a small part of your big day! So, what is your style? Do you have an overall vision, or a few ideas? Let us help. Once you have had a chance to decide upon the venue and a general color palette, we would love to sit down with you to chat about décor.

We take great pride in being hired to help with your event. All of our pieces are made with love and care, and for that reason, we will only accept one event per day. You can be sure that Matteson’s Florist sees this day as YOUR special day. Please contact us to check date availability and to schedule a one hour consultation with our Event Specialist.

During your consultation, we will get to know each other and work together on the details of your event. At this time, we would love to see anything that you’ve worked on so far. Invitations, fabric swatches, or a Pinterest board are all great examples of things to share with us. Have you considered what portion of your budget will be allotted for florals? It’s best to have this in mind before your consultation. We are happy to go over what things will cost, but let’s spend our time dreaming of all the beautiful things you can afford.

A few days after your consultation, we will email you a proposal based on all of the details that were discussed. You are free to make any changes that you see fit to make you pleased with the overall aesthetic and budget. As mentioned, we are only able to accept one event per day. If you would like to work with us, we require a 20% deposit to save the date.

From here, you are welcome to make as many changes as you would like up until 30 days before your event. The remaining balance is due at this time, as this is when we are finalizing our orders for your flowers and vessels. We want to make sure everything is perfect for you, and this time allows us to confirm that you will get great product!

Our Event Specialist will check in with you about ten days prior to your event to secure any last minute additions you may have. From there, we will begin receiving product and working on your gorgeous arrangements!

On the day of your event, we can set up, transfer and tear down. Anything we can do to make your day effortless.
